Louisiana Behavioral Health is a partnership between Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport and Oceans Healthcare, two Louisiana-based providers leading the transformation of behavioral health care through evidence-based, patient-centered treatment for adolescents, adults and seniors.
At Louisiana Behavioral Health, we provide treatment designed to meet each patient’s unique needs. We understand the specialized nature of providing mental health services for people of different age groups and with different behavioral challenges.
Our inpatient care services provide concentrated, evidence-based treatment to help individuals achieve stability and transition to a lower level of care. Our intensive outpatient programs encourage long-term management and daily progress toward ongoing healing. Individual therapy sessions are personalized and focused on comprehensive wellbeing. Group therapy sessions are conducted separately so adolescents, adults and seniors receive the care best suited to their needs.
To provide the greatest level of service to our community, we address a range of behavior health issues and diagnoses. We understand that patients may face multiple conditions at once, which is why we are also offer specialized treatment for those experiencing the mental and emotional side effects of substance use disorder.
Utilizing proven innovative and progressive therapies, Oceans’ qualified professionals strive to promote long-term wellness in an environment of dignity, honesty and compassion.
Though our treatment plans are individualized for each patient’s unique needs, everyone in our care receives:
- program oversight by Board-certified or Board-eligible psychiatrists
- daily monitoring by clinical staff
- mental health education
- medication education and management
- diagnosis and symptom education
- daily monitoring with medical physician oversight
- caregiver and/or family therapy options
- supportive discharge planning
Louisiana Behavioral Health provides inpatient, outpatient, and partial hospitalization mental health and substance use services in a safe and comfortable environment with individual and group treatment programs designed to meet the specific needs of patients during any stage of life.
Our behavioral health treatment programs are focused on healing and long-term recovery with the goal of helping patients return to their lives. Whether our patients are experiencing common mental health challenges like depression and anxiety or another behavioral health concern complicated by a dual diagnosis, our staff treats every patient with dignity and respect on their path to healing.
Louisiana Behavioral Health provides inpatient care for adolescents, adults age 18 and older and geriatric patients 55 and older with chronic conditions, such as bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and other mental health diagnoses, or who may have a dual diagnosis.
Patients needing intensive care in an outpatient setting use our outpatient program for help managing common mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, grief, post-partum depression or substance use disorder.
